Tai Chi school welcomes international visitors

GLENORCHY’S Jian Shen School of Tai Chi and Qigong received a special treat in early April when guests from the Tasmanian Chinese Buddhist Association (TCBA) paid a visit.

The four young monks delighted the school’s students with a demonstration of their special form.

The demonstration followed a visit to Jian Shen by a delegation from the TCBA last year, where they watched the school’s students perform many styles of Tai Chi and Qigong.

Jian Shen School founder and principal Bill Pearson said everyone who attended and watched the four monks agreed it was a “very special occasion”.

He said the visit highlighted the reciprocal cultural exchange between the two organisations.
