Summer ball set to swing

GLENVIEW Community Service’s annual Summer Ball is set be just one of the many exciting social events on offer to residents, staff and the broader community in the early part of 2018.

The must-attend evening of dancing, reminiscing and socialising will take place at the Golden Years Club in mid-February.

A live band will provide the soundtrack for the night, pumping out ballroom and swing favourites that are sure to have everybody’s hips grooving and feet moving.

Ball-goers will be dressed to the nines, with the best dressed ladies and gentlemen vying for the coveted Belle and Beau of the Ball Award.

Glenview Community Services chief executive officer Lucy O’Flaherty said Glenview took pride in holding a range of exciting and enjoyable social events throughout the year.

She said the events were much anticipated not only by residents, but by staff and volunteers as well.

“The ball is already generating excitement around Glenview,” she said.

“Social events like the summer ball provide a wonderful opportunity for the entire Glenview community to come together and let their hair down, enriching the strong relationships Glenview prides itself on.

“It’s extremely rewarding to see the smiles on the faces of residents and staff members enjoying some good old-fashioned fun with one another.”

Glenview Community Services is a multi-award winning aged card and community services provider situated in Windsor Street, Glenorchy.

In addition to residential care, the organisation also runs two-day centres, situated close to the residential building.

These centres offer a range of social and recreational support to those in need of extra help due to frailty or disability, no matter the age.
