Northgate Shopping Centre supports safer communities

NORTHGATE Shopping Centre has supported a number of community-based initiatives over the years.

A major effort in 2015 was the youth photographic competition and community-focused showcase, “Snapping Perceptions”.

This project saw Northgate Shopping Centre, Glenorchy City Council and Claremont College working in partnership to support students as they utilised the medium of photography to explore and capture the many positive aspects of living, working, learning and playing in Glenorchy.

Northgate Shopping Centre has again generously committed to supporting Snapping Perceptions in 2016.

It is the aim that this year’s photographic competition will expand to include students from additional schools and colleges within Glenorchy.

Lisa Rudd, from Glenorchy City Council’s Safer Communities, is currently seeking to identify Glenorchy-based schools, students, teachers, community groups, artists and businesses interested in supporting, participating in, sponsoring, mentoring or contributing to Snapping Perceptions in 2016.

One of the themes and highlights of this year’s showcase will be Northgate Shopping Centre and the role it plays as a “safe place” – a hub that brings people together.

Anyone who is interested in being involved in, or supporting, the creative concept of Snapping Perceptions at Northgate Shopping Centre 2016 is encouraged to contact Lisa Rudd on telephone 6216 6800 or email
