THE annual Model Train Show is once again rolling into the Tasmanian Transport Museum on the weekend of 3 and 4 August.
The event is a major fundraising activity for the Glenorchy Lions Club and is organised in conjunction with British Railway Modellers of Australia (BRMA) and the Transport Museum.
Although the show is primarily aimed at the whole family, model train enthusiasts will have plenty to look at.
Layouts from across the state will feature a mixture of Garden, ‘O’, OO, HO, and N gauge, as well as a Thomas Layout for the children to play with.
The Hobart Miniature Live Steam Society will also be present with a range of display models.
Visitors will be able to browse and explore all the museum exhibits, with the full-sized trams and trains all open for inspection.
Featuring entertainment for the whole family, the show will include real train rides, children’s competitions, a raffle and refreshments – including the Lions Club Food Van and a barbecue.
New and second-hand sales tables will offer the opportunity for patrons to add quality railway accessories to their collections.
The show will be held at the Tasmanian Transport Museum Society premises in Anfield Street, Glenorchy on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August from 10am-4pm on both days.
Tickets are Family $30; Adults $15; and Children (under 12) $5.
Admission includes free train rides on both days.
