Glenorchy City Council will once again host an ANZAC Day service in remembrance of the sacrifices and contributions made by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during WWI and other conflicts.

The service will be held on the lawns outside the council chambers at 374 Main Road, Glenorchy from 11am-noon on Tuesday 25 April.

Glenorchy Mayor Bec Thomas said she is looking forward to welcoming the local community to the lawns again this year for this important day of respect.

“The ANZAC Day ceremony is a very special event on Council’s annual calendar,” she said.

“It is a day of remembrance and a day to honour all service men and women.

“It is also a day that reflects the diversity of modern military operations, as young veterans join with veterans of earlier wars, connected by the experience of service.

“These ceremonies also serve to ensure the memory of those who served is honoured
and remembered by the community for generations to come.”

There will be an opportunity for members of the public to lay wreaths on the day.
