THE Claremont Golf Course will once again be swarming with sporting identities, golfers and hackers on Good Friday for the Muscular Dystrophy Tasmania (MDT) Golf Day.

There is a long tradition of fundraising on this day, becoming a much-needed event for the volunteer organisation.

MDT president Mick Peters said this year’s event was building on the momentum from 2018.

“Michael O’Loughlin will be back as the MDT ambassador, along with other regular faces,” he said.

“In addition, we are working on a big-name new face as guest speaker, which is always hotly anticipated by players.

“John X and the team from the Bawdy Pantos continue their support for the event and will be providing entertainment throughout the day.

“Our organising committee of Vin Goldsmith, Darren Eiszele, Eddie Saville, David Charlesworth and Darren Clark are putting the finishing touches on our traditional sporting memorabilia auction.”

Last year’s event raised almost $19,000 for MDT, Ronald McDonald House Hobart and RHH Children’s Ward.

Team places are limited, so people wishing to enter are asked to email Muscular Dystrophy Tasmania on mdtasmania@outlook.com or phone 0408 688 402 or 0400 877 137.
