Glenorchy Knights clinch back-to-back premiership

THE Glenorchy Knights Football Club championship men’s team has clinched a back-to-back premiership win following a draw against Beachside on 12 August at KGV Football Park.

“The game was a tough battle, so full credit to the boys who dug deep and won the premiership,” coach Franco Previdi said.

The 2017 season has been a successful one for the Knights, having won the Summer Cup and Southern Championship, as well as coming runners up in the Lakoseljac Statewide Cup.

The Knights have also qualified for the League Cup, which sees the top six National Premier League sides and the Southern and Northern Premiers compete against each other in an end of season knockout competition over the coming weeks.

Glenorchy Knights Football Club president Tony Bacic said the club was very proud of its achievements during its 60th anniversary year.

“We thank all our wonderful sponsors, hard-working committee, coaches, managers, parents and players from junior, youth and senior teams,” he said.

“We also thank our vocal Knights supporters who came out in force throughout the season – it has been a memorable year.”
