Glenorchy businesses shine at annual excellence awards

GLENORCHY residents and businesses were recently rewarded for their hard work and community contributions at the 2015 City of Glenorchy Excellence Awards.

More than 150 nominees and guests gathered on Friday 16 October for a gala ceremony at Elwick Functions and Events, hosted by award-winning personal trainer Melanie Irons and supported by ANZ Glenorchy.

Organising committee chair Caroline Farquhar said she was delighted with the number of quality entries received for the 2015 awards.

“The event continues to grow in stature each year,” she said.

“The diversity of the nominations we received this year is reflective of the people who took the time to nominate these worthy businesses from the City of Glenorchy.

“We thank all the sponsors who make this event possible and look forward to a bigger and better ceremony in 2016.”

In addition to the winners’ prizes, all nominees received acknowledgement certificates in the lead up to the category winner announcements.
