CLUBS Tasmania and North Melbourne Football Club (NMFC) have partnered to reward and recognise volunteers in the community club industry.

NMFC has provided four reserved seat tickets for every Clubs Tasmania member for North Melbourne games at Blundstone Arena.

Clubs Tasmania is the peak advocacy body for RSL, sporting and community clubs across Tasmania, aiming to represent them on a range of issues relevant to clubs.

“Our role is to work with stakeholders across the state to enable the broader community club industry to have the skills, understanding and resources so they can be effective, sustainable and viable in helping Tasmania lead healthy, productive lives,” Clubs Tasmania project manager Andrew Moore said.

Mr Moore said clubs played an important part in the community.

“Whether it’s a Lions club, Rotary club, PCYC or local sports club, these establishments provide places for people to connect,” he said.

“They bring communities together and provide social capital benefits by making people feel less isolated.”

Mr Moore said the partnership with NMFC was a way to recognise and reward the hard work of volunteers at community clubs.

“Both Clubs Tasmania and North Melbourne are committed to engaging effectively with the community in meaningful ways and are excited to be playing a role in strengthening and rewarding the community club industry,” he said.

North Melbourne has shown its commitment to playing AFL in the region with three full-time staff based in Tasmania who work collaboratively with 26 AFL Tasmanian employees.

“Our partnership shows our commitment to building and investing in Tasmania, with Tasmanians,” North Melbourne state manager Shayne Stevenson said.

“Partnerships like this help us to grow the game, strengthen pathways and inspire brighter futures for the Tasmanian community.”

Clubs Tasmania provides a number of benefits to its members through its corporate partners including PFD Foods, Gallagher Insurance and The Travel Studio.
