Caj celebrates 20-years in style

STYLE was the name of the game at Caj Hair & Beauty Studio recently when the Moonah-based hair salon hosted a special birthday party to celebrate 20-years in business.

Held at the Black Buffalo Hotel, the event was attended by 130 guests and included local produce and Tasmanian wine, professional photos and a DJ.

Caj owner Carol Rees said she was “honoured and overwhelmed” to reach 20-years in business.

“I feel very honoured to receive the loyalty and support of my many dedicated staff and customers,” she said.

“I have had customers who have supported me for more than 36-years and I was overwhelmed by the support I was given on the night – I had a wonderful time spreading the love.”

Starting out in Derwent Park with four part-time staff, Caj is now located in the Moonah CBD and has grown to include a total of 16 staff, most of whom are full-time employees.

“The business has grown beyond my wildest dreams and being open for so long, hopefully, means I am doing something worthwhile for both my community and family,” Ms Rees said.

“My business family are an extremely important part of my life and I am proud to say that we have trained 14 apprentices and still have staff employed that were with me since the beginning.

“I have made some great friends along the way and I hope our clients feel like they are part of the Caj family when they visit.”

With a team of fully qualified stylists, Caj offers a full range of hair styling and colouring for men, women and children of all ages.

Its beauty therapists also offer a selection of indulgent treatments including facials, tanning, waxing and gel nails.

Ms Rees said she credited the business’ success to her team of “wonderful” staff.

“I cannot thank them all enough for all they do for me, for Caj and for our wonderful loyal customers who have kept us employed all these years,” she said.

“I think my next phase will be to one day pass the Caj baton on to someone who will love and look after it for another 20-years, but this won’t be in the near future as I’m still enjoying myself too much.

“As long as I’m healthy and doing my job well, I’ll continue to strive for excellence in a family environment.”

Caj Hair and Beauty Salon is located at Shop 5B/110 Main Road Moonah and is open six-days a week.
