An outrageous treat for the tastebuds

OUTRAGEOUS is the new name of the game for Cheffies Café Bakery & Dessert Bar Northgate as it prepares to launch a brand new selection of delectable delicacies.

The most anticipated of the bunch will be the addition of two new flavours to the café’s widely popular “Over The Top” (OTT) shakes.

“The OTT shakes are like a milkshake and dessert mixed into one – they stand out from the crowd and are an experience in and of themselves,” Cheffies manager Caitlin Babos said.

“We are very excited to be introducing ‘The Hulk’ and ‘Strawberry Kisses’ to our existing range of flavour options, which includes Rainbow Unicorn, Kinder Delight, Death by Chocolate, Salted Caramel Peanut Pretzel, Nutella Overload and Cookies and Cream.

“The Hulk is a peppermint lovers delight and includes a house-made peppermint milkshake and choc-chip ice cream, topped with fresh whipped cream, chocolate and peppermint syrup and lollies, as well as a homemade chocolate cookie filled with delicious buttercream icing.

“Strawberry Kisses will feature a strawberry milkshake and ice cream, topped with fresh cream, strawberry syrup, wafers, lollies and fresh strawberry and meringue kisses.

“Nowhere else in Hobart will you find the same milkshake experience – it is something different and a real treat for the whole family.”

Following a change of ownership in November last year, Cheffies is now undergoing a major revamp that will soon see the addition of a brand new menu with indoor dining options.

“We are very keen to be creating a new menu that focuses on home-made desserts and delicious traditional food,” Ms Babos said.

“Our new menu will include a sit down breakfast, new lunchtime items, homemade soup, chicken burgers and hamburgers.

“Dessert options will include the traditional banana split and our newest creation of made-to-order layered waffles with ice cream and numerous delights.

“No matter your tastes, there is sure to be a new and outrageous delight for you to enjoy.”

From 10-22 April, Cheffies will be offering Northgate shoppers a range of special deals including any two OTT shakes for $22, two classic jacket potatoes for $15 and the ultimate jacket potatoes for $20.

Cheffies is open from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 9am-8pm on Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
